About the build

This is my 1993 Honda Acty van from Japan that I'm attempting to convert to electric. The goal is to create a fun, 4WD microvan that I can use to run down to the beach, and maybe crawl over a rock or two. The van is interesting because it's mid/rear engined in an R4 layout like a Porsche. This is cool, but has also made it difficult to map out how to get the power to all four wheels safely.

My first attempt at putting a motor in this was using a DC Netgain Warp 9 motor, but that didn't pan out well, it was too big. So I've decided to switch to AC and use a Hyper 9. My biggest hurdle is figuring out how much torque I can put through this tiny transmission. The stock transmission is rated at up to 74 ft/lbs of torque which is nearly nothing so we'll see.
